Not that I am voting for the Bills, but do they still have the record for the biggest comeback?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct..
ReplyDeleteThe Comeback
You already root for winners. It's time for some heart break Buffalo Bills style. Now that is being a fan.
ReplyDeleteGO GO BUFFALO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Rockpile
ReplyDelete1. Cheapest tickets in the NFL.
2. Voted the best tailgating.
3. Small market team that keeps selling out the stadium even though they have not made the playoffs in a decade (lots of heart or lack of brains or both)
GO BILLS!
I know in hockey they take a team photo at the end of the season. The take the photo in uniform, then go clean up, clean out their lockers and go home for the summer. It's likely that football teams do this too, so there may not yet be a 2009 team photo.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brent. Also, I have been a Bills fan since the 80's when I was a little kid and they won me over $500 in my dad's betting pool at work. Shh, don't tell mom! :) Go Bills!
ReplyDeleteGotta go with the Bills!
ReplyDeleteGreatest fans BAR NONE IN THE WORLD, so become one of us...someone already made a great point: best tailgating, cheap tickets, great atmosphere at the stadium, etc. Also, the dedication is 2nd to none. If you become a fan of this team, you will live, eat, breathe, and die with this team. The entire city has for years.
This is the franchise that went to 4 straight Super Bowls and three of those were on the heels of defeats. The resiliance of our Bills, during this period of the early 90's was tipified by Don Beebe's running down of Leon Lett of the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl 27. In a hopeless situation, he hustled all the way down the field to catch big Leon from behind and save a touchdown!! High School coaches from around the country praised this effort as the very best showing of "never giving up" and "never giving in" to the opposition dispite the score (52-17) or circumstance! If you are a passionate person, and I'm guessing you are, then look no further, you've found your N.F.L. football Home!! GO BILLS!!!
ReplyDeletereasons to be a buffalo fan:
ReplyDelete1) you will never be accused of being a "band-wagon" fan
2) it builds character
3) great history. Ralph Wilson is one of the behind the scenes heroes of the NFL
4) The tailgating is fantastic, and people from Buffalo tend to be very friendly. Go to the Ralph, bring some blue and you could probably make lifelong friends and get a great free meal in the parking lot before the game
5) Don Beebe running down Leon Lett in the super bowl and knocking the ball out of his hands before he crossed the goal line (as mentioned above)

6) very knowledgeable, very passionate fans who stick by their team in good times and bad. I moved out of buffalo ten years ago, and any time I see someone with Bills gear on I get excited because it's such a strong connection. You know people are true fans, and not just following a trend.
Run away from the Bills a quickly as possible. The team has been poorly run since Polian left. The "greatest tailgating" is honestly pathetic as a large percentage of the fans simply get so drunk that they cannot stand up. "Cheapest tickets" is right on target, as stadium is way out of date and the seats are very uncomfortable, albeit all seats have great / decent views...of course you have to deal with the fact someone sitting within a few rows will be so drunk as to make you concerned for your safety.
ReplyDeleteThe upside of rooting for the Bills is that they will soon leave for a more interesting city to visit (hopefully Toronto), so you can enjoy a full weekend of events when you head to the game.
theres nothing better that being a buffalo bills fan. there is not much in this city, but a good time and "those god damn buffalo bills" (tim russert). theres nothing better than tailgating 5 hours, yes i said 5 hours before the game starts, having more beer u can drink,(its what we do, bars are open till 4am deal with it) a grill with salhens hot dogs, and having a bills uni on singing the shout song at the top of your lungs with 70,000 plus with the greatest fans in the world. we still sell out every game even though we havent made the playoffs in ten years, and the colder the better. so this is a challenge to you, if you want to go to atlanta, detriot or any other big market team go ahead and enjoy life in a big city with a bunch of band wagons fans. we are a city of die hards and die hards only just starving for our team to compete. so come on down to buffalo, stay the weekend in a camper (only team in nfl where u can stay the weekend) or just drive up for a game, put a bills uni on cuz u don't u will get heckled trust me, get a 18 pack and just walk the lots and see the passion of the city of buffalo and its die hard fans...you will become a bills fan instantly...LETS GO BUFFALO!!!! "Knowbody circles the wagons like the BUFFALO BILLS"
