- Form letter thanking me for being a Falcons fan, explaining the Tony Gonazalez trade, giving an intro of the coaching staff and key players, and explaining community involvement.
- "Fan Playbook"consisting of 5 trivia questions and a word search
- 2 Falcons stickers
- Falcons pocket schedule
The letter is too long to reprint but here is the intro paragraph:
Dear Falcons Fan,
We are honored that you are an Atlanta Falcons fan and want you to know that you are part of the Falcons family. Whether on the field or in the community we strive to be responsive and show our appreciation to our fan. We are continuing to move forward in our commitment to create a winning team on the field, deliver an exciting game day experience, and give back to the community.
Now, as I said with the Detroit response, referring to me as a "Falcons Fan" at this point is not only presumptuous, but evidence that nobody read the actual letter. However, I will give them credit for including some good information about the team including information on the current players and what they're doing in the community. Definitely better than explaining how I can buy more stuff.
Thanks to Atlanta for the response. Now, back to this word search...
You should pick the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you like the type of team that works hard, then you won't be disappointed. The Steelers already have a great fan base, and a great team. I have been a fan all my life. Yes the Steelers have their ups and downs, but overall no one can compare to the Steelers at this time! I am sure the Steelers would meet your expectations. Whoever else you may choose ... you will never look forward to playing the Steelers. (Good luck on selecting a team!) Gooo Steelers!!!!
ReplyDelete1st of all, it is Jason....right
ReplyDelete"Da-Bears" the oldest the most storied franchise in football. How can you go wrong with names like Halas Butkus, Sayers, Payton, Urlacher and now Cutler. SNL did a skit for years about them. There was a movie, Brian's Song(Piccolo & Sayers). As a fan for 45 plus years
now, there have been good years and bad years, probably more bad than good, but that just makes the good years even more enjoyable!
Any ways, enjoy, it's a great game to follow and next you will have to play fantasy football, and being a fan, it's hard not to pick your own teams players. later.........DJ
First a word of wisdom; pick a team that is least likely to relocate on you. This happened to me with the Rams. Second, Choose an organization that puts morals first before the game. Example, Chicago Bears will not tolerate foolish behavior such as repetitive DUI's, domestic violence, etc. These player exploits will embarrass you as a fan and you will not go through the embarrassment. Teams like the Raiders, are simply an embarrassment unless your a parole. As a matter of fact, they are known as the "outlaws" of the NFL! Terrible since these players are truly mentors to our children growing up.
ReplyDeleteAt least they were for me.
I am a Bear fan and it is because I looked up to Walter Payton, the classiest player in the NFL who achieved great things on the field but wanted to be remembered as a good person first and foremost. He set a great example for me growing up. I am proud, very proud, to be a Bears fan. I think you would be too.
If you have kids, or plan to, they will of course look up to Dad and mimick all they can with Dad. You would be proud if they were a fan of a team like the Bears. The Bears would not hire a diva wide receiver like Terrel Owens who puts himself before the team. They don't even consider a player like that because the morals and good examples of how a player acts are more important than winning. However, there are other players for a good organization to pursue, as the Bears have, and still win!
I am a Dodger fan and an Angels fan. Both local teams and good organizations. I can root for a freeway series and be in baseball heaven when this happens (This year my friend). As you probably know, we must have a true loyalty to one and only one. I have a loyalty to the Angels. When I was younger they needed fans as I felt a little sorry for them because even when they were doing well they were hardly mentioned, by Stu Nahan, on in the news.
Angels needed me.
Also, they own the Yankees which is my least liked team in all of sports next to the Raiders or the Cowboys. The Cowboys have a hole in their roof so God can look over them? The arrogance of that statement causes blindness and I don't want myself there. The other team in Texas named their team after themselves! The Houston Texans? Gimmie a break. All teams in sports are named after either animal or geographical location-like the Lakers who were originally in Minn. The Texans? For the love of God!
So, Please consider the Bears and if not, look at the class of the organization first. Did you know that Green Bay fans own their stadium? Will they ever move? I think not. They are our rivals but they are classy. Rivals and competition should always remain healthy. It brings out the best in all of us.
If you choose the Bears you will have many things to be proud of:
You will win a championship now and then, you will not suffer through a horrible season, your home stadium will not change into the name of a product-you get to call your home field "Soldier Field" and feel like a true proud American every Sunday as your team honors veterans, and you get to stand proud as your organization stands for good morals-so even when they lose-you will still be proud. Other good reasons are: you get to watch your team play in the snow now and then, your team has a very rugged manly name like "Bear", you have a bright future, you have the best sports Saturday Night Live comedy skit with Goodman, Ditka, Beluchi and Akroid, where they actually make fun of ourselves-the fans. Yes we are so proud and secure that we can even laugh at ourselves.
If you find another team that offers you all this, please let me know.
Your new NFL friend, Kurtis
